The carvings (Tower) of Bengkulu

Two weeks ago I went to the view tower Bengkulu with my friends. In there, there are carvings of the monuments history of the former Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono about the events of what happened from his to end his tenure, and took the picture. After that we drank fruit ice and eat bakso bakar together :D .

TIC : Are you tourist ?

T     : yes, i am. I come from holand my name is susti.

TIC : my name is Indri I am a tourist information center. How do you do ?

T     : how do you do.

TIC : How long have you been here ?

T     : I have been here for five day.

TIC : Are you going to stay for long ?

T     : No, I am just on a short holiday. I want to ask some information about Bengkulu for example place to eat, relaxe, beach and museum.

TIC : ok. I will give you information about place to eat. In bengkulu, there are many place to eat, such as Solaria. In solaria, have many feed and very delicious.

T     : Wooww... Very good. I will go to solaria.

TIC : and then in Bengkulu have museum.

T     : Where is it ?

TIC : it in Pembangunan Street Number 12 Padang Harapan Bengkulu.

T     : can you help me go to museum ?

TIC : Of course. So, will you go to beach In Bengkulu also ?

TIC : yes, in area kepahiang Benteng, Seluma, Kaur, Mukomuko, etc. They are beautiful tourism place.

FESTIVAL TABOT

TABOT BENGKULU

Bengkulu (Dutch: Benkoelen or Benkulen, English: Bencoolen, Malay: Bangkahulu, Rejang language: Bekulew / Bekulaw), located in the southwestern part of the island of Sumatra is a province located on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. To the north is bordered by West Sumatra, on the east by Jambi and South Sumatra, while the south of the Lampung.

Bengkulu has Besurek traditional craft of batik, batik fabrics decorated the Arabic letters shaven and recognized by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to be one part of Indonesia's cultural heritage and contribute to enrich the culture in Indonesia. Culture Bengkulu has some different characteristics as influenced by the different tribes of South Bengkulu cultural / ethnic Serawai, Rejang culture and coastal culture. Tabot culture is a unique culture that combines local traditions with Shia Islam culturally.

Opening Tabot Festival 2014 held at Merdeka Square starting at 20:30 am. Tabot Festival opening was attended by the Governor of Bengkulu, Bengkulu Deputy Governor, Elements of Regional Leadership Communication Forum (FKPD) province of Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province on education, Bengkulu Mayor Helmi Hasan and Representative Regent of all the provinces of Bengkulu. Opening Tabot Festival begins with the appearance of one of the Dance Studio of the city of Bengkulu. Then proceed with the report of the Head of Culture and Tourism of the province of Bengkulu as Tabot Festival organizers. And then, tabot festival finished at 2 November 2014. Colesterol Band also came to the festival, I watched with my friends to celebrate tabot festival and whatched them.

 

Dark Tourism

Dark Tourism is a concept related to tourist travel to the location or place associated with events that bring tragedy or cruelty or death. Dark Tourism also called as Thanatourism, where Thanatourism derived from the word Greek word thanatos for the personification of death, refers more specifically to violent death, it is used in fewer contexts than the terms 'dark tourism' and 'grief tourism'. The main draw to dark locations is their historical value rather than their associations with death and suffering. In an article that quoted from the pages of The Independent, Professor John Lennon, director of the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development at Glasgow, who coined the term "Dark Tourism" among tourists believe that this kind of hate to imagine how they might react to the disaster.

So Dark tourism is tourism involving travel to sites historically associated with death and tragedy.

My opinion about this, all the events or occurrences have another side interesting story. But, we have to remember there is fact also that must delivered to tourists participate so that they keep knowing about actual historical events. In addition to bringing the tourists, the cast of dark tourism is also important to document history. Indonesia itself has a lot of track record associated with the concept of dark tourism, for example about Tsunami in Aceh.
