TABOT BENGKULU
Bengkulu
(Dutch: Benkoelen or Benkulen, English:
Bencoolen, Malay: Bangkahulu, Rejang language:
Bekulew / Bekulaw),
located in the southwestern part of the island of Sumatra is a province located on
the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
To the north is bordered by West Sumatra, on the east by Jambi and South Sumatra,
while the south of the Lampung.
Bengkulu
has Besurek traditional
craft of batik, batik fabrics
decorated the Arabic
letters shaven and recognized by
the government of the Republic of Indonesia to be one part
of Indonesia's cultural heritage and
contribute to enrich the culture
in Indonesia. Culture
Bengkulu has some different characteristics as influenced by the
different tribes of
South Bengkulu cultural / ethnic Serawai, Rejang
culture and coastal
culture. Tabot culture is a unique culture that combines local
traditions with Shia Islam culturally.
Opening Tabot Festival 2014 held at
Merdeka Square starting at 20:30 am. Tabot Festival opening was attended by the
Governor of Bengkulu, Bengkulu Deputy Governor, Elements of Regional Leadership
Communication Forum (FKPD) province of Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province on
education, Bengkulu Mayor Helmi Hasan and Representative Regent of all the
provinces of Bengkulu. Opening
Tabot Festival begins with the appearance of
one of the Dance Studio
of the city of Bengkulu. Then proceed with the
report of the Head of Culture
and Tourism of the province of Bengkulu
as Tabot Festival organizers. And then, tabot festival finished at 2 November
2014. Colesterol Band also came to the festival, I watched with my friends to
celebrate tabot festival and whatched them.
